CHARACTER INTERPRETATION
» Appearance: Eren is a soldier, and after years of intense and specified training, he's built like one; lean muscle and powerful presence. Eren's eyes are a striking green, although they seem to reflect many different shades of green within them. With being aged up, Eren is taller, standing at 5'10". His face is harsh, more angular as he ages, losing the roundness from his youth, and his brows almost constantly furrowed.
» Suitability: In Eren's world, there is no time to focus on relationships and intimacy. The only thing any of the soldiers can focus on, is the here and now, and often times the here and now involves not getting grabbed by a giant humanoid and living to see another day. Or defending a comrade from said giant humanoids. Not much thought is given to romance or sex in Eren's world. He is a soldier first and foremost, defending humanity until his last.
If given time to focus on it, Eren might find it a bit strange. Getting so attached to someone that he could spend time physically with them is something that doesn't happen often (although, with he and his friends, they cling to and touch each other often, even if it's only platonic it's rare).
To then be thrust into something where he'd be forced to have sex to survive - he would not be pleased to say the least. Eren likes to be in control of his fate and does not accept death easily. Despite not realizing that he could turn into a titan, Eren continued to fight while trapped in the belly of a titan, missing both an arm and a leg. Without encouragement from his friends, he will try to fight Atia's will, perhaps even stubbornly allowing himself to come close to the brink of death if it means the goddess won't get her way. He knows he can't die though. He has too much riding on him in his world to allow himself to die.
Eren possesses a mentality that is much older than his age, even from the start. He was forced to grow up quickly, with his father gone and watching his mother die at the age of 10. He joined the military not long afterwards learning discipline, respect for his superiors, and his determination shines, despite him not being the most talented soldier in the trainees.
His collar would be a brass cuff, a cruel reminder of his place as a monster in his world, and the burden of finding what lies in his father's basement.
» Orientation: Unknown. Eren's orientation is never explicitly stated in canon, nor does he show interest in any of his comrades.
» Personality: Eren Yeager's life hasn't exactly been a picnic. And his personality reflects such.
Eren is an incredibly emotional person. Unfortunately, those emotions, more often than not, aren't always in the 'happy' or 'cheerful' range. Oh, Eren can definitely be positive; one doesn't get called 'Humanity's Last Hope' for nothing (although that is more credited to the fact that he can shift into a titan and control them on some level, but let's not worry about that for now). His emotions tend to lie in the fiery range; anger, sarcasm, spite, determination, passion. He cries when he's upset, and always has, but he never seems to think less of himself for it, letting his emotions boil over whenever they need to.
Determination is quite possibly Eren's staple above all else. He didn't lie down and give up after watching his mother be eaten by a titan. No, he decided to continue with the path he'd always wanted, joining the military and becoming a part of the Survey Corps (as a side note from the mun, this is translated into many things....recon corps, scouting legion, scouting league....it's really confusing and dumb and even the official anime translation on netflix can'tfuckingpickonegod).
Eren was never the best in his class, nor the strongest or most agile. He doesn't give up, focusing on whatever he has to for him to succeed. While training with their 3DMG (three dimensional moving gear) harnesses for the first time, Eren fell again and again. Instead of giving up, he asked other trainees for advice. The next day he was still unable to. The next time he went to practice, he managed to keep himself balanced, practically forcing himself to stay up. It's revealed that his harness was actually broken, and that's why he was having such problems staying upright. So once again, Eren defied odds, succeeding where he shouldn't.
Proof of his determination is shown in his placement in his graduating class. Eren placed in the top 5. Even his instructor says there's nothing that stands out skill wise with Eren, but he earns every scrap of respect he gets by pushing through and never giving up. He even survives being eaten by a titan and losing two limbs by simply remembering his will to kill all of them (well, with a bit of help from experimentation and again...being able to turn into a titan). Eren doesn't give up, and he never will, even with death staring him down, hand clasped around his throat.
Eren's hate for the titans (and a bit for himself?) fuels these things, most of all his determination to kill every last one of them. The titans have killed many people he cares about. His mother, people he graduated from being trainees with, squadmates - Eren has watched these people die before his eyes and felt helpless to stop them for many reasons, whether it be because he was too young and inexperienced, as is the case with his mother, or if he was told to trust in his squad and stay the course, and not use his abilities to help in a fight. He feels these deaths are directly his responsibility, that he should have been able to stop them in some way, even though he's been told not to regret the choices he's made.
One thing that makes Eren's revenge lust for the titans so potent, is that he is ruthless. Eren's world is very black and white and it is difficult to get him to realize that some of his actions lie in a very gray area. Eren has killed humans before. When he was nine, two people kidnapped a girl and killed her parents. Eren and his father were going to check on them, discovered the parents dead and the girl gone. While Eren's father was determined to tell the Military Police and told Eren to hide, Eren took matters into his own hands. He found where the men were hiding and showed exactly how intelligent he is, pretending to be a helpless child before killing them both in revenge for the girl and to rescue her. He also showed leadership and what influence he can have on people, convincing her to fight for her life against a third man, and giving her strength just through his words.
Eren forms strong bonds with people, whether he hates or cares for them. There are two people in particular that are with Eren through thick and thin, and even followed him into the belly of the beast so to speak because of their bond. The girl he saved that day, Mikasa Ackermen, turned into his adoptive sister, and while the girl is one of few words, she's strong, intelligent and incredibly talented. Eren's has a jealous streak a mile wide, and while he tries hard to be self reliant, Mikasa is constantly at his side helping him, rubbing it in his face exactly how hard he has to work for things. He loves her dearly though, and as shown in some of the most recent chapters where he literally discovers the new power of being able to command titans to protect her.
The other in their trio, is Armin Arlert. Eren finds inspiration in the other, as Armin was the first to show him forbidden books of what could be outside of their walls. Eren admires and respects Armin's intelligence, often turning to him when in need of assistance, like just after he'd first turned into a titan. He knew Armin would know what to say to the Garrison to get them to stand down and not kill the three of them. Eren is just as adamant about protecting Armin as he is about Mikasa. Not only did he protect him from bullies (with some help from Mikasa), he literally jumped into the mouth of a titan to pull Armin out, without knowing he could transform. He was willing to give his life for the other boy in that moment.
The three shared the devastating experience of losing their homes, and guardians together. They grew together, trained together in the military, supported each other, and clung to each other for dear life, and Eren would be a much different person without them in his life.
Another huge influence in his life is a man named Levi. Levi is a squad leader in the Survey Corps, one with the title of Humanity's Strongest Warrior, and that title is not one given lightly. Levi is talented, fast, and extremely aware of the situations he's placed in, and Eren can't help but be a bit awe struck to be in his squad. 'Hero worship' would also be a good phrase for it, but the longer he's been under the man's wing, it seems to cool off (but that doesn't stop him from worriedly cleaning a cabin top to bottom and snapping at others to do the same for his Captain).
Levi teaches him patience, and to rely on his decisions no matter the outcome during Eren's first expedition outside of the wall. Levi doesn't judge him for being able to turn into a titan, calling him a monster, but not because of his power, but because of Eren's will and determination that he shows even while chained like a prisoner. Eren respects and appreciates what the older man represents in his life, and finds his trust and confidence when he needs it the most, such as after returning from their first expedition beyond the wall, where the majority of their squad is killed.
The others in the top 10 of their 104th trainee squad also mean a great deal to Eren in different ways. They rose together, finding rivals in some (Annie, Jean), commrades in some (Berthold, Reiner, Marco, Krista), and...just...something in others (Connie and Sasha??). In more recent chapters, Annie, Berthold and Reiner have been revealed to be titan shifters just as Eren is, but they are batting for the other team. Eren feels betrayed by the three of them, hesitating to kill Annie when given a chance, and unable to do anything to stop Berthold and Reiner when they capture him to bring him back to their village, but frustrated none the less at their betrayal.

[It may have taken him a bit and some help from others, but Eren's finally figured out how to use the video portion of his device. In this video, his eyebrows are furrowed, eyes looking troubled. The sounds of crashing waves can be heard.
He should say something profound or something. This thing connects to everyone else here right? That would be useful back home. Eren grits his teeth.]
I should be happy to see the ocean.
[It's clear he's not.]
It's just another damn wall, along with this stupid collar. Keeping us here and compliant.
[And it's clear he's suddenly not really in a talkative mood. His eyes harden and the feed goes black.]
» Third Person Sample Choice: Prompt 3
Eren had managed to make his way back to his temporary living quarters, tugging at the piece of leather around his neck. It was getting tighter. Maybe it was true then, what he'd been told. That the collar would kill him if he didn't have some sort of sexual contact with someone.
His hands clenched into fist, an annoyed noise escaping his mouth. Was it really any type of sexual contact? Could he just...take care of himself? He should have paid more attention to those guides he'd been sent, or paid attention to those who aided him when he first arrived. Now it was too late, his back was against the wall, and it was do or die. He'd been here before, but those times the answer seemed so straight forward, kill or be killed, turn into a titan or die terribly. Fight.
This situation though, this was almost the exact opposite of fighting. And after a life of fighting, Eren wasn't sure how to approach it.
He knew there was at least one brothel here. That was an option. Sex with a random stranger in exchange for life? Maybe this was just a different kind of fighting. The collar seemed to shift as he was making a decision, tightening to an almost excruciating level.
You can't win if you don't fight right Eren?
He found himself outside the apartment again, walking down to the brothel he knew of and he entered. The soldier honestly had no clue where to start. It wasn't as if he'd ever even had time to think about this growing up. Between his training, and then the events at Trost, there literally wasn't time to think about it. He'd been swept up into the Survey Corps, and their struggle to save humanity from titans and itself.
The woman at the counter had been polite and helped Eren make decisions about what to do. His face was flushed the whole time as she asked his preferences on various sexual activities. Why would anyone ever need to know this stuff? The yes or no answers spilled from his mouth as he refused to look at her. When she cheerfully told him to follow her, he did as such, keeping his eyes to the ground in embarrassment and shame. This was fighting. He couldn't go home if he didn't do this. Why did it feel so embarrassing then?
The woman he was introduced to was beautiful and he would be lying if he said he wasn't attracted to her. She took his and and guided him to the bed before beginning her work. It was like magic. His arousal was brought to life, and he wanted her. They were undressed and on each other in moments, Eren awkwardly following her lead at every turn. He didn't know how to kiss beyond the friend peck. He didn't know what foreplay was (it definitely wasn't unpleasant though). He knew basic mechanics of things, but actually putting those things into practice...?
The actual deed was over quickly, and even if his escort didn't say anything he knew...it wasn't supposed to be that fast. He gathered his clothes and dressed, letting her go about whatever duties she had to do post...her job. He paid her and then left nearly as quickly as he arrived.
If there was one good thing that came from the experience (well besides the obvious), it was his collar was as loose as the first day he had arrived. He was able to breathe easy again, literally and figuratively. He fought and won this battle. Eren would just have to keep looking at it as a battle to return home, and not die here in some crazy sex land. If he could give his life for humanity, he could have sex to save his own life.
